Program
The centerpiece of Live Cinema Festival 2020 program takes place from 9th to16th October in the Sala Ellittica of the Acquario Romano – Casa dell’Architettura that hosts 16 artists with 12 international scale live performances of live cinema, thanks to a special set-up, a majestic 20 × 5 meter projection that will follow the elliptical curvature of the Hall.
Each evening performance is preceded by the Symposium on “What is synesthesia?”, a meeting in which authors, curators and artists of international standing are invited to discuss the topic of synaesthesia and the relationship between sound and image
Before each performance, it is also possible to enjoy the video installation “Machine for Living” by the canadian artist Sabrina Rattè, a series of videos that investigate the architecture of the new cities and the brutalist residential buildings around Paris.
Furthermore, the Sala Ellittica, from Sunday 11 to Wednesday 14 October, hosts a special section dedicated to Italian artists, Live Cinema Made in Italy.
The educational experience of Live Cinema Festival enriches the program: on October 9, start the workshops, curated by Algo:Ritmi, lasting 4 days each for a total of 16 hours in total, on Digital Storytelling and Virtual Reality.
The Screenings section preludes the entire kermesse, with “About Live Cinema 2020“, a preview of projections that seek to prepare the audience for the festival performances, and runs from August 16 to October 16 at the Acquario Romano – Casa dell’Architettura and in the 3 satellite locations chosen for the section: Auditorium Parco della Musica, Ex Cartiera Salaria – CityLab 971, Fusolab 2.0. The “Screenings” section also continues during the days of the festival at the Acquario Romano – Casa dell’Architettura with interviews with the artists hosted in addition to those ones of past editions of the festival. The screenings are visible on the days and opening hours of the various locations.
