Audiovisual Performance Contest – September 18 @ Circolo degli Illuminati, Rome
With live DJ set + audience voting + real-time visuals
Do you have what it takes to light up the dancefloor with your visuals?
ICIAP 2025 invites you to step on stage and perform your live visual set in sync with a DJ during the official ICIAP 2025 party.
THE CHALLENGE
Selected participants will be part of a live VJ set, accompanying the music of a professional DJ performing on stage.
Your goal: create visuals live, in real time, that move with the music, surprise the audience, and show off your skills.
The contest will be judged in a unique way:
50% Jury vote – international experts from visual arts, academia, and live performance
50% Audience vote – live voting via QR code or link during the event
This challenge will be one of the highlights of the ICIAP 2025 night event on September 18 at Circolo degli Illuminati.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Participation is open to all ICIAP 2025 registered attendees with an interest in live visual performance.
To express your interest, simply send an email to: nightvision@iciap.org before August 31, 2025.
You’re encouraged to include a short VJ portfolio or any material that shows your experience in the field — as performance slots are limited, participants with relevant background may be given priority.
Selected artists will be invited to attend mentoring sessions with experts ahead of the event and will perform live using either their own approved setup or the official system provided.
Only up to 10 performers will be selected.
SUPPORT & MENTORING
Selected VJs will be invited to attend 2 mentoring sessions in September with professional visual artists to get familiar with the tools provided and prepare for the show.
A shared device will be available for use. If you’d like to use your own gear or software, just let us know — the mentoring team will be happy to discuss what’s possible.
